- Design Methodologies |
-
Structured Analysis and Programming Methodologies:
I have studied and applied the following structured analysis and programming
methods of Chris Gane and Thris Sarson, and Yourdon Methologies
- Standard used by PUC University in Computer science classes during
the stage of structured programming technology evolution - 9 years
using this methologies (1985 up to 1994).
-
Object-Oriented Design methodologies - Actually I
am keeping myself in a self pace study of Rational Unified process
(RUP), Object Oriented Software Process (OOSP), and OPEN Process, using
the books of Larry Constantine as a bible for object-oriented project
and design.

- Development Package Tools |
I have had opportunity to use the following Development Packages:
Software AG Adabas-Natural, Microsoft Quick C Tool, Borland Turbo Pascal,
SDK for Windows Environment 3.0, Visual Foxpro 3.0, Natural,
SID and Microsoft Cobol Environments.
For AS/400 platform I have used Application development Tools
that includes: DB2, QUERY OS/400, SQL OS/400, SDA
(Screen Design Aid), RLU (Report Layout Utility), SEU (Source Entry utility),
PDM (Programming Development Manager), and Client Access.

- Computer Networks - LAN and WAN |
-
I have strong knowledge about local area network. I am installing,
supporting, troubleshooting Local area networks since
1986 for more than 13 years. I have started working with LAN
using QNX, peer to peer LAN. Also I have worked with Star network
topology named SIMM and developed by Telsist. With Novell I have
started studying and becoming Network Administrator with Novell 3.11. After
this release I have installed and used for long time the release 3.12.
Actually I am using Novell Intranetware release 4.11. I integrated
Novell with other servers, that includes OS2 2.0, OS2/Warp 3.0, Windows
NT Server 4.0 and OS/400.
-
I have experience to design and install the ETHERNET backbone
environment. I have started working with 10 Base 2 (thinnet) and 10 Base
5 (thicknet) for backbones. Due to the cabling system evolution and also
because the Structured cabling Level 5 became cheaper, I have used it -
that includes the RJ45 environment and also fiber optical cables. I have
knowledge of installation, support, troubleshooting and maintenance
of link-switches, hubs, transceivers 3COM, balloons, multiplexers
and routers. Also, I worked with twinaxial environment and its conversion
for fiber and RJ45 environments. My experience with protocols includes
the installation of muti-protocol environment with SPX/IPX,
TCP/IP, SNA and NETBEUI.
-
My WAN experience includes the installation of AS/400 environment
using IGN international backbone to connect our AS/400 global peer to peer
network, connecting with sites in the following countries:
Germany, England and UK. The IGN backbone was using SNA protocol
using IBM router.
Also the WAN experience includes the installation of
NOTES EMAIL environment also over IGN backbone using TCP/IP that includes
connection with hub-computers in USA and gateway with INTERNET.

- Internet, Intranet and Extranet |
| The IT is, in my opinion, among the most hardest career
to keep ourselves updated about the new technologies and its evolution.
Part of that difficult is because it is not easy to find formal institutions
offering most of specialized courses needed. So we must buy books, buy
softwares and do a lot of self study, and also to gain experience and know-how
we must go hands-on.
My most loved issue is networking environment and technologies.
I felt in love with Internet. I have been reading, searching, studying,
deploying, implementing as much as I can do about that. Also, the companies
were I have been working has invested in training, when was possible, to
let the internal team to be prepared to use and deploy the LAN and WAN
technologies, what includes myself.
As a part of my self
investment to get one certification program with the major international
companies (Microsoft, Oracle, Sun, Cisco, ...) to be updated into the new
environments, I have started to study, since 1996, everything specific
and related to the Internet technologies. My recycling preparation program
includes participation in Courses lead by instructor and self paced learning
tools (step-by-step books, cdroms, web online content, practice tests,
and so on).
To create the homepage of Autotex I had the following
activities:
Domain Name Register and Maintenance
-
I Registered the Domain Name of Autotex.com.br - I was the
technical and administrative (not only the billing) contacts for this domain.
I kept in touch with Brazilian Internet Register Institution and they with
me about any issues related with our home page.
Home Page Maintenance
I was in charge of to create the draft of our homepage.
I have used the internal design people of Design and Textile CAD area of
the company.
The Company who kept the Site of Milliken & Company Group
was Doog Wood Production. I kept in touch with them about issues related
at Autotex Home Page that I was in charge. I sent to them the text content
draft and the images of our home page. The Autotex Home page was kept in
English and Portuguese language.
The host computer working was the Web Server (Http Server)
was kept the Autotex Home Page is Milliken&Company Host in USA
I kept tracking periodically the statistical about visitors
to our home page and I published these data to our internal managers and
interested people
Dialer, Browse Installation and
Block of IP Address Administration
I was in charge of Block of IP Addresses administration
of the mobile users and our DHCP Server of the LAN f the plant where
I was the IT manager
I had control over the new login accounts and the IP gave
to each new mobile users
Actually I am keeping studying
tools, utilities, languages protocols, and everything else related with
Internet such as TCP/IP
suite of protocols, DHCP
Servers, DNS
Servers, HTTP
Servers, FTP
Servers, Proxy
Servers and Firewalls,
SMTP,
POP3, NNTP,
Index
Servers,
ASP
3.0 (Active Server Pages), Linux
Server, CGI with
Perl5,
Java
2.0, HTML,
DHTML,
XML,
Apache
and Internet Information Server (IIS 4.0),
SQL
Server 7.0,
Frontpage,
Golive,
Dreamweaver,
Visual
Basic Script,Visual C++, and Visual
InterDev and everything related with environment,
security, page design, and so on. |

- Leadership |
-
I have participated in special classes and seminars to acquire
experience to manage and lead people. These trainings has been sponsored
by the companies where I have worked. Specially the first
training I receive was in August-1988, from RACIMEC, named "Management
of Yourself". This seminar was made for the whole management
team of RACIMEC. We were one week in training. After the training one Adviser
was analyzing our progress for more than one year. I learned issues such
as motivation, creativity, conflict negotiations,
relationships problems, perception, leadership, memory, and
so on. Also I had certificate of participation in a training specially
about in "How to Manage IT. Teams".
-
I have started in 1988 to be an IT Manager in Racimec, and
I was for 2 years. Then I got the same position in Atlantis Group, in 1990
for 4 years. The third experience in IT. Manager position was in Willen
group for 2 years. Now I am working in Autotex for more than 3 years in
the IT. manager position. This means more than 10
years leading people in IT area, not including the acumulated periods
of time where I was leading people at the position of project leader despite
of my senior system analyst position.

- Project Management |
-
I have had opportunity to work together with PUC University
teachers in a project of CEF (Social Brazilian Federal Bank) for close
to 4 years, and I have learned, searched and written text containing
concept, theory and practical application about planning
and scheduling of projects in special oriented
to projects made by IT and system teams (Pert/Cpm,
Resources Balancing, Critical paths, Gantts, and so on). Also I
have been teaching these issues in several companies.
-
I have strong domain over software
for project management and I use them often into
daily basis to have control over system projects activities,
tasks and resources of all kinds. I have had opportunity to study,
to use, and to give training to people over the following packages:
Super-Project
Plus, Time Line 3 and 4, and actually
Microsoft Project.
