Sharp was a computer, peripheral and eletronic devices industry, including color televisions, calculators, vcr systems and others. I worked at the computer division as a programmer. In 1975 was the year when the eletronic calculator was produced and sold for the first time. Also was the begining of the strong sales volume of color televisions.

At the picture left you can see the three parts of the equipament. The control and fuction keyboard (at right). The processor and were the program cartridges were inserted (at top) and the printer and alphanumerical keyboard (at left).

This equipment was late replaced by BA-1000 model. The BA-1000 programs also were written in assembler language, but stored into magnetical cards.

For both equipments I wrote programs mainly for billing, accouting, material and warehouse controls, financial and payroll systems. I have had opportunity to participate in several courses, sponsored by this company, to get the technical background to let me  work creating programs and applications.

This was my first job and since then I never left the information technology area. I was hired after passed in one special physiological test made among candidates. The test was made basically to check the capacity for logical thinking and to create algorithms. That time we had no universities yet teaching computer area issues. The computer manufactures were giving all training and courses needed to work and write programs. I had a good luck and I was selected among a lot of candidates.After the test I travelled to Sao Paulo City to get the training needed at Sharp headquarter building. I was 19 years old. I have enjoyed a lot that beginning time of my career.
